A 45 g fibre plaque for the coat end of a 1.8 m2 wardrobe
Where the sachet plan keeps the whole wardrobe at the lowest dose, this one adds a defined coat zone. A 45 g compressed fibre plaque at 8 mm and 10% load, hooked on the door-side rail end, gives a dry herbal read at 3 m2 for 62 days — the longest single-charge life in the register.

Dot spacing and radius are driven by the rung, the field width by the covered area, and the second field by the room's air class. Both fields are generated at build time from the room and carrier records.

Change the area or the air class and the server recomputes the cycle. The script upgrades this to a live preview; with the script off the button still works.
Basis: 1.8 m2 · closed. A smaller floor area, so the unit count can come down — but the refill interval does not stretch linearly, because a small room saturates sooner. Air class unchanged from the original plan.
Why fibre board and not plaster
A wardrobe is the only room in the register with an open-the-door moment. When the doors open you are standing 40 cm away, and what you get in that first second is determined by the plaque's surface area and its current oil load together. Plaster keeps absorbing and releasing moisture in a sealed space and its output swings by about 12% at that moment; compressed fibre board is dense, barely absorbs anything, and its curve is flat. The first second reads the same every time.
In a room whose whole read is a first second, consistency beats peak output, and that decides the substrate before anything else is considered.
Eight millimetres at 10% load: thin body, low pressure
An 8 mm fibre plaque has little pore volume and carries about 1.5 ml. That low capacity is precisely what produces the 62-day life — a low release rate per hour simply lasts longer. A 10% load is about 1.5 ml, and that is the most a plaque this size will draw in evenly without leaving a film on the face.
Above 14% the surface films over within four days, collects dust into a dark patch, and the scent picks up a cardboard note that no amount of airing removes.
Position: door-side rail end, clear of the clothes
The door-side position has three advantages. It meets fresh air first when the doors open, so the read is at its clearest; it is the greatest possible distance from folded stacks; and the airflow from the doors actually pushes fragrance into the body of the wardrobe rather than trapping it in one corner.
Keep 5 cm from the nearest garment. A fibre plaque transfers less oil than a sachet does, but sustained contact still leaves a compression mark and a pale oil print on dark wool.
Using it alongside the sachet plan
The wardrobe's two plans — the L1 sachet and this L2 plaque — can run together, but the total matters. A 45 g sachet at 11% plus a 45 g plaque at 10% raises output in a small cabinet by roughly 60%, which moves the room from L2 straight to L3. If you want both, move the sachet into a drawer or a shoe box and let the plaque carry the cabinet alone.
Run on its own, the plaque costs more up front, CNY 45 against CNY 13, but lasts 62 days against 52 and takes one re-oil that stretches it to about 100 days.
Cost: CNY 15 a month with one re-oil
The plaque is about CNY 45 and lasts 62 days, which is CNY 22 a month. One re-oil — 1.5 ml, about CNY 4 — stretches it to roughly 100 days and brings the figure to CNY 15. A stainless hook is a one-off CNY 5 and lasts indefinitely. Whether this plan costs CNY 22 or CNY 15 a month comes down to whether you re-oil it once.
Diagnosis
- A dull face with grey patches. Load was too high and a film has formed. Wipe it back and re-oil at a lower load.
- The note has turned sweet. A different direction was used at re-oil and the residue in the board has mixed with it. There is no fix other than a new plaque.
- Intermittent on opening. The plaque is hung too deep, among the clothes, and door airflow never reaches it. Move it to the door-side end.
- Pale marks on a garment. Less than 5 cm of clearance. Adjust the hook position.
- It reads strong for a week and then vanishes. Two carriers are running in the same 1.8 m2 cabinet. Move the sachet out.
Assembly, in order
- Choose the face material — Plaster and fibre board differ in exactly one way that matters: plaster pulls moisture out of the air and releases it again, fibre board does not. In a bathroom or a kitchen, take the board.
- Load the face, not the body — Brush two to three millilitres onto the unglazed face with a pipette and leave it face up for twelve hours. Loading the edges wastes oil into the air you are standing in.
- Hang it clear of fabric — Hang the plaque at least fifteen centimetres from any textile. Closer than that and the fabric becomes the second reservoir, and the room reads as one flat note.
- Wipe before you re-oil — Wipe the face with a dry cloth before the second load. Old oil that has oxidised on the surface stops the new load from migrating out.
Code PLQ · the whole body of the plaque is the reservoir; scent migrates to the surface and evaporates

Failure diagnosis for L2
| What you notice | What caused it | What to change |
|---|---|---|
| Clear at the desk, gone by the door | The rung is working exactly as specified. L2 is not meant to reach the far wall. | If the doorway has to read, change rung rather than dose. Adding units to an L2 set-up produces an L2 with a hot spot, not an L3. |
| One side of the room reads, the other does not | The carrier is sitting in the moving air, so the scent is carried past the near seating before it can build | Move it out of the draught and keep 1.5 m clear of any vent. Position fixes shape; oil only fixes amount. |
| It reads noticeably louder after dark | Cooling air drops toward the floor and takes the layer with it, concentrating it at seat height | Raise the carrier 20-30 cm for the evening, or accept it as the shape of the rung and set the position for the evening hours. |
