Why this carrier here

There is no air exchange while the doors are shut, so a wardrobe is not a diffusion problem but a saturation problem. Whatever the carrier releases stays in the box and soaks into cotton and wool. What is stored here will be smelled by other people, at close range, all day.

That makes the wardrobe the strictest room in the register for dose. A carrier that is barely detectable when the doors open is usually already too much; the correct setting is one you notice only for the first four seconds after opening.

Keep the carrier off the clothes themselves. Direct contact transfers oil onto fabric, and oil marks on wool do not wash out cleanly. A shelf, a hanging sachet above the rail, or the inner face of the door all work.
